Norway and Russia take Team Sprints in Nove Mesto

Maiken Caspersen Falla and Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg are winners again in the ladies' team sprint in the Czech Republic.  They won in Liberec one year ago and again today in Nove Mesto.  For the men it was a repeat of the Asiago podium with Russia I just out sprinting Norwegian team's 1 and 2 on the homestretch for the victory.

Randall and Ustiugov dominate in Nove Mesto sprints

Kikkan Randall (USA) and Sergey Ustiugov (RUS) were victorious in Nove Mesto free technique sprints. Both found the podium before Christmas in Davos the last World Cup free technique sprint competition (not including Tour de Ski), but this time they both found the top step of the podium.  For each it was their first win of the season and the first ever World Cup win for Ustiugov.

Teams Arrived in Nové Město

The tracks of the Golde Ski FIS World Cup are ready for tomorrow’s official training. Thursday was busy with last finishes to the stadium infrastructure and facilities, same it was busy in the official WC hotels. Also the parking places designed for wax trucks have been filled.

Nové Město Raised Credit of Czech XC Skiing

The best conditions for cross-country skiing in Central Europe are currently in Nové Město na Moravě. The local 2.5 kilometres long course covered with technical snow survived with honours harsh tests of biathletes and XC skiers – both in training and competition.

SLAVIC CUP RESCHEDULED TO NOVÉ MĚSTO

There’s a busy programme ahead of Nové Město organizers at the beginning of the New Year. Despite the warm Christmas weather, the 2.5 km course is being fully used for training and racing both by cross-country skiers and biathletes. On the first weekend of 2014, on 4.–5. January, the Vysočina Arena will welcome participants of the 2nd round of the six-round cross-country skiing series – the Slavic Cup, that was originally scheduled to take place in Jablonec nad Nisou.
